Hydroseeding vs. sod vs. seed.

The right choice depends on budget, timeline, site size, erosion risk, desired finish, watering ability, and how quickly the area needs usable turf or cover.

Hydroseeding

Often used for efficient seeded establishment across lawns, commercial sites, slopes, roadsides, and larger areas where seed-to-soil contact and mulch coverage matter.

Sod

Best when instant finished turf is the priority and the budget supports harvesting, trucking, installation, and watering demands.

Dry seed

Simple and low-equipment, but usually less protected from erosion, drying, birds, washout, and uneven establishment.
